16 [Open Post] Valentine Day, Plum Flowers And Fairy Tales, Oh My!

Winter is almost over, and it's getting slightly warmer around City ****...

The Plum Flowers are starting to bloom, and the Valentine Season has come!

The World Tree Mart and the Commercial Districts are all having their Annual Valentine Sales, and the streets look festive indeed.

But wait! Something else does seem to be happening too, as it often does in the World Tree System. A Reality Wave with a Fairy Tale bent is heading City *****'s way, and people and beings are either being transformed into Fairy Tale versions of themselves, or being forced to take part of Fairy Tale like scenarios!

[Whether the characters are affected by the Fairy Tale Reality Wave or not are all up to their Muns. The Reality Wave caused changes will end in three days, or whenever the Muns want them to end, and then things will go back to normal.]

[This is an open post, and the Muns can make up events and thread with each other as long as it fits the Fairy Tale theme, the Valentine theme, or the Plum Flowers theme.]

The Fairy Tale Reality Wave

[Utena and Anthy were both sitting in the rooftop garden of City *****'s City Hall, eating a delicious lunch.]

...Oh, my.

[Utena said, her eyes widening.]

- Is that really what I think it is?

[Anthy nodded.]

...Oh, yes it is, Utena. What a nice shape! It looks just like the tide coming in, except the foam is pastel colored...

[And then, she took a snapshot of what Utena was looking at with what looked like a very old fashioned camera.]

[And in the meanwhile...]

[A little girl was craning her neck, trying to see what Utena and Anthy were seeing.]

...I can't see anything, Mama! What are they trying to take pictures of, anyway?

[Her mother craned her neck, too, shrugging.]

- Well, they both feel sort of magical, so maybe they're trying to take pictures something magic that's invisible to most people or something like that?

[Anthy chuckled at at. The mother had gotten it right this time - Reality Waves really were invisible to most mortals, after all...]

The Antique Bakery's Valentine Sale

[Chikage looked around the large table filled to the brim with Valentine themed sweets, and rubbed his hands together happily.]

[He really loved working at a bakery, sometimes...]

Somewhere in the World Tree, a version of the Dragonborn nervously darted his head up to the sky as soon as he heard the wind howl.

One would have been forgiven for thinking it was a nervous tic. After all, said Dragonborn was far too many miles and on an entirely different branch of the city where the Valentine's Bakery took place, well within the borders of a town where things were safe. In the middle of all of these events, there was something giving credit to said panicked hero's sense of paranoia:

1. When the wind howled, it had a distinct echo.

2. A gigantic winged dragoness eclipsed the sky when she flew above the table, almost pushed the pile of sweets of it, and extended her legs and hands to snatch a hapless baker on the spot like a rabbit to a hawk, with only a tiny cake spinning in place.

Much to said distant Dragonborn's paranoia, this event took place many miles away from his vicinity, and judging by the large cake that also disappeared from the table, this dragon was hungry for pastry.

[Aand Chikage's mouth dropped open!}

...Young Master?????

[But then, he watched the dragon fly away, and he clapped his hands to his mouth.]

- Oh, no!

[Chikage immediately ran into the Antique Bakery, where Ono had been putting on the last finishing touches on about 20 cakes.]

...Chikage-san? What was that noise?

[Ono asked, taking a good look at all the cakes lined up in a row. Chikage groaned, and then tried to get his breath.]

- A - A gigantic dragon just came flying over, and grabbed the Young Master!

[And then, Chikage groaned again.]

...And she grabbed the gigantic Valentine cake which was supposed to be our centerpiece too, but...

[Ono tilted his neck, then.]

......She? You know this dragon, then, Chikage-san?

[And in the meanwhile, up in the air...]

[Tachibana was groaning himself.]

...Kotomi-chan. Of all the things to turn into for the holiday...

[Its a double date night for the holy sextet! not just romantic for the pairs of madoka andhomura, and sayaka and kyouko, but also double date last minute babysitting over Madoka's baby brother Tatsuya and Kyouko's little sisters, now including her new adopted little sister Yuma Chitose (but her story is aother one to be told another time) . They are all relaxing at Madoka's house for a fun night in, even inviting Mami and Nagisa as well.
after dinner and time to start settling down, mami serves up some goodies, and just as Madoka suggests story time for the excited little ones, and she magics up a book, but this seems to be a special magic storybook!

[Mami looked up at the magical book of fairy tales floating up in the air, sweatdropping a bit.]

...This...does not seem to be the fairy tale book I was originally planning to summon, to be honest...

[Nagisa giggled, then, and waved her hand.]

- It doesn't feel like it's really dangerous or anything, though! And we've fought lots of really dangerous things as Magical Girls, including evil books, right?

[Hmmm. Mami poked the book gingerly, and then smiled.]

...OK,then. So the first story we're going to be telling is...

[Aand then, the book flew open on it's own accord! Madoka and her friend's all stared at it, their eyes wide.]

...Ohhhh! The pictures are so pretty!

[Yuma said with a wide grin.]

[The Magical Book glowed brightly with magial energies, then, and all the girls closed their eyes...]

[Fairy Tales]

[Homura blinked, then, and scrambled up on her bed, her hand to her chest.]

...Ow...

[And then, she paused. Why was her heart hurting like this again? And her sight was so blurry!]

[But then, she blinked. Wait, what? She'd always tended to be sickly and weak, and her eyesight had been quite bad from the time she was a child, right?}

[She put her hands on the desk next to her bed, then, and sighed with relief when she found a pair of pretty glasses with coral rims. She put them on her face with a smile...]

[And that was when Nagisa poked her head into the room.]

...Homura-Nee? Are you all right? You were groaning in your sleep again...

- Oh, I'm all right, Nagisa-chan!

[Homura assured her with a smile - And that was when Sayaka appeared behind Nagisa, scowling ferociously!]

[Sayaka immediately took a small slate out a small bag she always carried around with her, and started writing on it.]

Are you having chest pains again? Should we call the doctor?

[Homura quickly shook her head.]

...No, no, please - I'm fine now, and the doctors and medicines always cost so much money...

Madoka fairy tales- Sleeping Madoka

[Once upon a time, the good hearted and wise queen and king, more specifically the president and her husband, of a kingdom had a baby, an adorable , beautiful, happy little girl.
They wanted to celebrate, so they threw a a Christening party. It ended up attended by important figures and magical beings. A special invitation was sent out to the guardian fairies and good witches of the neighboring allied kingdoms

[A white furred and red eyed critter walked up to the baby, and tilted his head. Oddly enough, most of the people in the room didn't seem to be able to see the rather odd critter at all, though some of the Witch Women types and the Fairy Godmother types were sighing and groaning as they saw it come.]

I've never seen anybody with quite so much potential at such a young age, I must admit!

[The critter said, though most of the people in the room couldn't hear it speak, either. some of the fairies tried to pull it away form the child.

[The King and the Queen, in the meanwhile, were looking rather worried about something. The King went over to his Lady Wife, and whispered - ]

...Are you sure we were right to not invite her here, my dear? I mean - Lady Verena is still one of the most powerful Fairy Godmother's in this part of the continent, even is she is getting all strange recently...
[they were refering to Queen Verena, a young queen who had not long ago been acended to one of the guardian fairy godmothers, and indeed one of the most powerful. She was a kind heartedyoung woman who loved the theater. However, great tragedy had lately befallen her kingdom, and it said she was going mad from the giref..

Fairy Tale Subthread - The Little Mermaid

Once upon a time, there was a little mermaid who eventually grew up into a bigger mermaid.

Her name was Sayaka Oktavia. It was rather unusual for mermaids of that part of the sea to have two names, but Saya-Okty (as her friends called her) had had a half human grandmother, with feet instead of a fish tail, though she did have proper gills.

Sayaka Oktavia had loved her grandmother, and had been very sad when she grew old and passed away. She continued to be very sad for a while, but then, she aquired a new dream - She would become a Sea Knight, the best Knight in this part of the Seas!

[Sayaka Oktavia patted the pendant around her neck, and took a deep breath. Yes, she could do this!]

[the little Mermaid was naturally skilled at the sword, though was doubted by others because she was a lady, and she protected those in need and from crime and danger, like from pirates, including that annoying red haired pirate girl she had butted heads with the other day, hmph...
and she loved music very much. and of course mermaids are known for their enchanting singing voices, hers was one of the loveliest of all. She sometimes liked to even compose her own tunes.
Sometimes ,she could hear music coming from the nearby human kingdom and would sit among the rocks listening happily. especially the the violin the young prince played...

subthread- Snow white Kyouko

[ once upon a time, there was a lovely young princess named Snow White. Well, she was intended to be called Snow White , though the name RoseRed ended up fitting much better as her hair was as red as roses. Though she was a sweet and kind enough girl, getting along well with animals and children, she was also fiery spirited and brave and a sense of justice. She also greatly enjoyed food, especially apples.

The current queen of the castle snow white, Rose Red, lived in, was a cold, vain , beautiful young woman in white, with a violent, loyal, one eyed black clad henchwoman. The queen had a magic mirror in which she could see visions through. She would also talk to the odd furry spirit who gave her the mirror, and everyday she would ask "mirror mirror on the wall , who is the fairest of them all?" Today the spirit replied " the notion of beauty is relative, and Comtemplating the notion of fair you ask, the maiden Rosered within this castle portrays fairness and just."

- And perhaps it was a good thing that that name did not stick. You wouldn't want to end up dead because somebody tricked you, and forced to to dance about in red hot iron shoes till you died, correct?

[The Queen stared at the Mirror, then.]

...You say the strangest things sometimes, Mirror.

[And then, she went to the dining room, where the Princess was busy scarfing down a big red juicy apple.]

- Why, hello, Rose Red. How do you do?

[Rose Red looked at her.]

...I am fine, Lady Mother. So how fairs you?

[The Queen snarled at that.]

- So rude. And you call yourself a Princess?

[And then, she looked the red haired girl up and down.]

...Your mother - Your real mother - Was one of the most beautiful women I ever saw in my life. And when she was pregnant with you -

[Red Rose gave her stepmother a sharp smile, then.]

- She wished for a child with skin as white as snow, and lips as red as blood. Oh, and her hair was supposed to be as black as the most beautiful ebony.

[And then, Red Rose looked at herself.]

...And what she ended up with was a child with skin like old ivory, and hair as red as blood. Oh, the lips ended up all right, I suppose...

Madoka fairy tale subthread 5: red riding charlotte

[Once upon a time, there were two sisters. The eldest was a gorgeuous elegant young lady named Mami Candleoro, The younger sister was an adorable little girl named Charlotte who adored sweets and cheese. She had the nickname Red Riding Hood, because of the red polka dotted cape she liked to wear. Mami came from a wealthy family, and was Charlotte techically Mami's half sister but was adopted into the family's care due to her own family's financial problems and single mother;s poor health. Despite this, Mami and Charlotte cared deeply for each other as real sisters and were so sweet together. Charlotte still often went to visit her sick mother in the doctor's keep in the woods.

[Once upon a time, there was a good hearted and wise Queen and King, or so the stories said - Except that in this case, the Queen was really a Queen Regnant, which meant she was a Monarch in her own right, not just the wife of a King. And her husband wasn't really a King - He was called a Prince Consort, and was considered a member of the Royal Family, but he wasn't a Monarch himself. The Queen Regnant was good hearted and wise, while her husband was well known for his kind and stable personality, and was quite handsome to boot.]

[All and all, they were known as a good match, and the Kingdom rejoiced when they had a beautiful baby - an adorable , beautiful, happy little girl.]

[And so, the time came for the baby's Naming Ceremony. Invitations were sent out to all kinds of important figures and magical beings, and special invitations was sent out to the guardian fairies and good witches of the neighboring allied kingdoms.]

[The day of the ceremony was windy and cloudy, even though the weather forcasters had sworn it would be sunny that day. The Royal Couple, however, did not mind the weather too much, since the ceremony was supposed to take place indoors.]

[The Queen Regnant stood on the stage, her Prince Consort at her side. There were some whispers and raised eyebrows about the fact that it was the Queen's husband who was holding the baby, but most of the people attending didn't seem to think it was too odd - Having a Ruler holding the baby would probably be too awkward, anyway, they felt.]

[they could already tell this child's soul was as pure as dawn, and would have a kind and hopeful heart. and outside, what was sunny day only a few minutes ago, the weather suddenly grew stormy, and a forboding dark atmospehre came over. there was joyful yet chaotic music as it sounded like a parade was approaching the castle. the door blasted open, and a beautiful young woman glid in, pale skin almost like a doll, an ornate ble dress adorned with gears, and an off smile, and a dark aura. it was queen verena

a few days later, a messenger arrived at the home , carrying letters with the local royal seal. Cinderhomura shyly accepted the letter. What could this be?
she quickly hid Charlotte's beloved pet mice, who were playing around her feet, into her pocket as the matron and her rather unpleasant, though the younger was a tad nicer, daughters strode in."
"A-a royal messenger was here, Madam, with this letter..." [cinderhomura bowed and handed the letter over.
As it turns out, it was an invitation to a ball! To celebrate the return of the princess, and everyone was invited! By that implied, the letters were sent everyone from a decent family and up, [though actually the kind hearted princess wanted to invite people from every class] such as it went for formal royal events. and especially to eligible young men of marrying age. Or young women, oddly enough. surely the queen regeant was joking about that.

Wait,a royal ball in which anyone could attend? Cinderhomura lit up hopefully, this could be her chance to see the sweet pink haired maiden again! And, even if the social gathering would be intimidating, it would be a nice change of pace from ehre, maybe actually be fun...

Fairy tale- Hansel and Gretel Rin and Len!

[Once upon a time, living in a cottage by the woods, were a pair of lovely young boy girl twins named Hansel [Len] and Gretel [Rin] They were practically identical exceptfor gender, hair style and a few centimeter heights. rin the elder twin, spunky and vivacious cute and a bit devilish. Len was more sensible and down to earth but still could get flustered.

[Ahh, yes, she was home now, all right.]

[She then took out a magical mirror she'd spent months enchanting, and held it out.]

Yes, my Lady!

[The magical mirror spirit chimed, and immediately started to paint a portrait of the castle and the surrounding town and forests.]

Aand now I'm done! Should I hang it in the Rooms Inside The Mirror, Lady?

[The spirit said, holding out the portrait inside the mirror so Gretchen could see it. Gretchen looked at it, and clapped her hands in delight.]

"You are welcome,lady!" [the mirror tittered cheerfully]] [Gretchen tucked the mirror away and tried to look inconspicuous as she looked off the ship railing to the approaching kingdom. She was actually supposed to be in cognito for her arrival bback home. It would be still a few days until hera arrival would be officially announced, it was thought it would be best if she would be kept secret just in case of any danger. Gretchen did not mind, it was nice pretending to be a normal girl. She was just posing as a hand maiden to one of her friends Lady Henrietta at the moment.
Gretchen magic sense picked up trace notice suddenly of something familiar nearby] "Could it be...?" [Gretchen dashed to the other side where on somewhat hidden part of the ships helm, underneath the window of the cabin where young Lord Kiesle was staying, Gretchen caught sight of a blue haired, shiny fish finned female figure splash back into the water]
