15 [Open Post] Winter Holidays - Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year!

The Christmas Season is coming, and New Years right after it, City ***** is getting festive indeed!

But wait - Now, the World Tree System itself seems to be joining in the fun!

The twig of the World Tree at the center of City ***** is now decked with bright colored right, green and white flowers, several versions of Santa Claus seem to be sledding in the air, and now, all kinds of Winter Holiday themed Reality Events seem to be happening right and left!

1. Santa for a day - Some people are suddenly being transformed into Santas or Santa's helpers for a day, complete with magical presents and sleds!

2. Be a Do-Gooder for a day! - Some people, on the other hand, have suddenly gotten the urge to go and help people who need help in some way. This can be both a good or bad thing...

3. Several Shrines are also getting a makeover for the New Year, it seems, as World Tree has apparently decided to give them "presents" such as new gardens, new buildings, and even new onsens! Oh, and also lots and lots of cleaning robots too, ho ho ho...

[Whether the characters are affected or not are all up to their Muns. The Muns can make up their own Winter Holiday themed events, and thread with each other, too.]

[Once the New Year Season comes, the World Tree System will also be causing Events for that too. All the Winter Holiday Themed Reality Events will end when the the holiday season does, or whenever the Muns want them to end, and then, everything will go back to normal.]

Yuuko's Wish Granting Shop - Do Gooder Mode!

[Yuuko looks up at the ceiling and smiles, most oddly.]

...Actually, for once in my life - I could indulge myself this way, I suppose.

Ho, ho, ho~

[Oh, Yuuko wasn't planning to break the Balance of the Multiverse, even in her current state, but on the other hand...]

[The little sprites who usually look in her Shop, on the other hand, stare at each other, sweatdropping.]

I feel doom breathing up our necks! Doom, I tell you!

There was the familiar sparkle of a magical woman soaring through the skies, and through the doors of Yuuko's shop, a purple-haired woman came through by slamming both doors open, and it is something that should be given more attention: Whenever someone with a doctorate in advanced physics ran like a bat out of hell, chances are you should follow suit.

"Yuuko-sensei!" Kotomi spoke with the same peace of mind as a man reporting to Moscow that they had run out of vodka, "there is a grave misbalance in the laws of thermodynamics that is causing massive fluctuations of energy through select portions of reality that seemed to originate from this place!"

......

Kotomi stood still as she realized she didn't make herself clear.

"What happened, Yuuko-sensei!?"

[Yuuko looked at Kotomi, and smiled, lazily.]

- Oh, hi, Kotomi-chan!

[And then, she tilted her head, shuffilng through possiblities.]

...Don't worry, Kotomi-chan - It's just that I decided to use some of the stuff I'd saved up over the years for emergencies, ha ha ha!

[And then, she came over and poked Kotomi's head.]

- I'm not planning to use all of it, though, so don't worry, OK? The World Tree System Avatars keeps giving me those looks...

[And then, she looked at Kotomi, and gently poked her cheek.]

...I suppose I wouldn't be giving you presents like this normally, but -

[And then, there was a great swirl of light, swirling around and around Kotomi.]

What do you really want, Kotomi-chan?

"But that is why it is for emergencies. More of that and It could--"

Kotomi shut her eyes as she was poked on her forehead, much like a kitten. Well into age of adulthood and plenty of doctorates under her name notwithstanding, Kotomi was still a child at heart. She lowered her head as even her cheek was poked...

"Present? What do you mean, Yuuko-sensei...?"

And in those moments, Kotomi realized that, for all of her intricate knowledge of physics down to the smallest particles and her mastery in magic relying on it, this showed her she was still woefully outclassed by Yuuko when it regarded changing the universe as she wanted.

The whirlwind of magic surrounded her. Kotomi looked around,

and...

She thought of her future. Having a family and continuing her parents' legacy, allow them the grandchildren they would have wanted... At the same time while wanting to stay in this world and learn even more... maybe even exploring other worlds, and becoming something far greater than she could ever imagine...

[Yuuko clapped her hands, then, as Kotomi began to blur and simmer with magical energies.]

- You have so much potential, Kotomi-chan!

[And then, she tilted her head.]

...The thing is, though, once you start walking down a certain road, you can't walk down other ones - Well, not at the exact same time, anyway. And it's never exactly the same road if you're not walking down it at the exact same time, so...

Doors open, doors close, that's the nature of things - Eh?

[And then, she tilted her head, and began to laugh. Those children from the future where Kotomi had married Ayaana were cute as buttons, she did have to admit...]

[And speaking of which, there was Gwendolen standing right behind the sprites, leering. Normally she would have stamped the little fairies into sparkle dust in annoyance by now, and she still wanted to, insteadshe smiled sweetly an patted their tiny heads]

[Yuuko slowly blinked, then, and gave Gwendolen a slightly drunken smile.]

- Gwendolen-chan! You're back!

[Yes, this was the same Gwendolen that had used to come to visit Yuuko frequently, Yuuko was pretty sure, even though she wasn't quite sure how much the younger girl remembered about Yuuko herself, or any of the friends she'd made in City ***** for that matter...]

[And so, she went up to Gwendolen, and gave her a hug anyway.]

[And in the meanwhile, some of the sprites Gwen had patted were sweatdropping even more.]

A Miss Gwendolen who's being nice??? We haven't fallen though into a Mirror-verse while nobody was watching, right?

No, no, of course not -

[A different sprite said, shaking her head.]

This must be a Christmas Thing, just like whatever's affecting Yuuko!

over in the part of town where many magical girls dwelled, Godess Madoka and Demon Homura floated shimering over the giant magical christmas tree like the angel toppers]

[Aand that was when the festive atmosphere changed, all of a sudden!]

[A dark cloud suddenly swirled above City **** - And then, a dark evil looking sled flew out of it, complete with demon raindeer and a very evil looking cackling Santa Claus!]

Don't bother telling me about good children, folks - Just tell me about the bad ones, the ones you don't need, the ones you wish would disappear for ever and ever!

[The Evil Santa's words somehow seemed to float all over City ****, even though he wasn't speaking very loud at all.]

Because then I will grant all your wishes, and carry away the unneeded ones so their parents and guardians never have to deal with them again! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha -

[Kyoko glared up at the Evil Santa, then, made her magical spear materialize in her hands.]

...Oh no you don't, you thing of nightmares -

"no, you're wrong! Every child needs love, especially from theirs families!" [madoka declared, and the girls went into magical girl mode. This time however, their magical girl outfits were now a more Christmasy variant! With greens and reds and golds and whites, warm trim and holly and jingle bells. It was the puella magia holy sextext, Crhistmas mode!

[James looks around all the Winter Holiday madness popping around him, and grins.]

...Well, it is Christmas, I suppose...

[And then, he checked over his list, wondering what presents to give his friends,:

[[he means this jokingly, of course, as he barley hangs on to....whatever it is he's hanging upside down on....as he turns his head away to sneeze]]

The Antique Bakery - Santa For A Day!

[Tachibana stares. His entire Bakery had now been transformed into a gigantic flying sled, and...and...]

[Tachibana checked his Santa outfit, and then looked at the other people that worked at his shop. Ono was a Santa too, judging by his outfit, while Eiji was one of Santa's helpers, oddly enough.]

[But Chikage was...]

[Tachibana growled, and rubbed his eyes.]

...Chikage. Are you actually a...raindeer today?

[Chikage the raindeer gave him a big grin.]

- Oh, yes sir, I am indeed - I'm a magical raindeer though I think, because normal raindeer's can't talk or fly, right?

Yuuko - New Years Eve - Still in Do Gooder Mode

[Yuuko was humming to herself as she prepared for the New Years.]

- Hey, Sumomo! I really wanted to give your Grandma a gift too while I'm still iike this, you know?

[Sumomo groaned.]

I'm pretty sure you current state is the main reason she suddenly decided to take a trip outside City *****, Yuuko!

[And then, Sumomo snickered, and jumped up on the table, patting Yuuko's head.]

...Well, I mean, it's nice to see you actually being lighthearted and happy instead of pretending all that for a change, but...

He laid a hand over Yuuko's shoulder, "I think you should take a break as well, ma'am."

Even being less proficient in magic, the Master Chief learned something was off when it regarded the fabric of the universe. More due to the fact the fairies hid around the furniture on Yuuko's shop like scientists taking cover behind lead sheets.

Due to this, he turned with concern to Sumomo as she pet Yuuko, "is your Grandma going to be alright?"

Just in case things went off the rails.

[Yuuko looked up at John, and then she smiled hugely.]

...But John - It's such a relief to have a break from worrying about breaking things all the time!

[Sumomo groaned.]

Um, John-san - I think my Granny is going to be fine, but on the other hand...

[And then, she nodded in Yuuko's direction.]

...Currently, she knows she might break a lot of things by throwing her magic around, but she just doesn't care as much.

I have no idea how she'll react once she gets back to normal, though.

The Master Chief, being a master of breaking things when necessary. tilted his head at Yuuko in concern. He turned to Sumomo as she herself was just as concerned by her mistress' actions.

In other words, he had to act as his Mentor's designated driver.

He offered his hand to Yuuko and held it, lifting her up like a lady, "it's going to hurt in the morning, ma'am. You might want to measure how much do you do. For the world's sake."

All of this is stated deadpan, as he slowly tries to lift Yuuko up on his arms.

The Moon Crew - Happy New Years!

[Rei is now dressed in something that isn't really a Miko outfit for this New Years.]

[She's wearing a female version of the Priest's formal uniform, since her grandfather has agreed to let her be his heir at long last.]

...So you're, what, the Head Priest's Assistant now?

[Haruka said with a grin.]

- Oh, yes.

[Rei said with a grin.]

...And I took all the recommended courses for Shinto Priests and Priestesses at the Infinity Uni too, though it has a new name now I think.

They finally decided to call it the World Tree Infinity Uni or something like that, if I recall correctly...
