The 10th Post - World Tree System || Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is here, and City ***** and the surrounding areas are holding all kinds of celebrations!

World-Tree-Mart and the Merchant Districts are all having Mother's Days Sales, and the restaurants, hotels and spas are having special events, too!

However, something strange is going on, too, as it often does in the World Tree System.

(1)Magical eggs are popping up right and left, and attaching themselves to people, seeming at random! If the people take care of them for a certain time, the eggs will hatch into cute creatures of the magical kind.

(2)Mothers, grandmothers, and possible future children of the people here are turning up! Those family members may come from the past, future, or present, or maybe from an world that isn't really their homeworld but an AU.

(3)Some people are also getting a strong urge to give people Mother's Day presents, even if they weren't planning to do so at all in the first place!

[All the strange things will stop and go back to normal in about 3 days. The Muns can decide if they want to keep the magical creatures or the mothers and other family members in the World Tree System setting or not. If they don't want to keep them here, the magical creatures will go to live in some kind of happy nature reserve for magical animals, and the mothers and other family members will go home to the time, place and world they came from.]

[This is an open post, and people can make up events and thread with each other as long as it fits the theme.]

...Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

[Madoka said, grinning, and held out a cake to Junko.]

I made this cake myself. Mako-chan did help, though, I have to admit...

[Aand that was when there was a big crash, and two children came falling out of thin air! One of the children had pink hair, and the other girl's hair was a rather odd blue-ish color.]

...S-Sayaka-chan! Are you OK!?

[The girl with pink haired said, worriedly. Madoka stared. Was it just her, or did this girl really look like her mother with pink hair for some reason?]

- Ugh. Stop sounding like I'm going to die because I fell on the floor, OK, Homura? Geez, how could a worrywort like you be my twin, anyway?

[The other girl's hair was a blue slate color, and her face basically looked like a female version of Madoka's father.]

"um, excuse me?" Madoka brought up in confsuin
[the two little grils ran and hugged her] "Auntie Madoka! Hi!"
"Hey, you're shorter now! and shorter hair!"
"Eh?! Auntie?!" [madoka turned pink]
"guess what guess what! We saw the legendary mermaid!

[The twins looked at Junko and Tomohisa, then, tilting their heads.]

...No, wait. This makes no sense at all. Why are Granny and Grandpa so young, anyway?

[The slate blue haired girl said, her eyes wide.]

[Madoka's parents looked at each other, their mouths dropping open - Aand that was when Tatsuya came running up to the girls, and bumped right into their feet!]

......Whaaaa!?

[The pink haired girl said, and sat on the floor, trying to hold him. And then, her eyes widened even more when she saw Tatsuya's name embrodered on his bib!]

- Sayaka-chaaannn! I..I...I mean, I know this sounds crazy, but Granny and Grandpa look so young all of a sudden, and the baby here looks just like Papa's photos when he was a baby, and...

". Grandma...?" A subconcious twitch came over junko at the word. She was barely even 40 yet, her age should not be bothering her yet
The other little girl waved her arms " are you saying we time traveled, like professor Why and prof Beige?"
" maybe!"
" but where are the aliens and the dinosaurs and the cowboys then?"

[Junko groaned, then.]

...Would you two pipe down for a moment, and tell us your names!?

[The two girls looked at each other - And then, the slate blue haired girl cleared her throat.]

- Ahh, right - Sorry, Granny! I'm Kaname Sayaka, and I was named for one of Auntie Madoka's friends because Mom'd just had a big fight with her family and she didn't want to use the names her family wanted her to use anymore. And then, two of Auntie's friends went missing, and everybody thought they were dead, and so I got named Sayaka and m'twin there got named Homura, and then the original Sayaka-san and Homura-san both turned out to be not dead after all, but we were both named already by then, ha ha ha...

[The pink haired girl sighed, then.]

...I'm, um, Kaname Homura. Sorry for the bother, Granny, Grandpa, Auntie...

James and the World Tree Mark Mother's Day Sale

[James is carrying a box of gift essential oils in his hands, humming to himself.]

[He'd never actually given anybody a Mother's Day gift, but for some reason, he felt he just might, this time...]

Yuuko's Shop of Wishes!

[Yuuko herself was nowhere to be seen, for some reason, though Sumomo was bustling along, readying a large cart full of little magical gifts for Mother's Day.]

...OK, I'm ready now, Yuuko!

[Sumomo looked around, then.]

- Hey. Yuuko? Where are you?

Hal's House

[Hal is humming to himself, trying to figure out what to do for Mother's Day.]

[Well, he hadn't met any of version o his mom for years, but whatever, whatever, it was the spirit of the thing, right?]

Mami's House

[some time had passed since Nagisa had arrived in Infinity and was adopted by Mami, and she had settled in perfectly well since. Even though the strange things in this world confused her a bit, she was so happy now. She was living a normal life again, no more hospitals and witch hunting, though she still had her magical girl power, and she and her new big sister and mother figure loved and cared for eachother dearly. Nagisa had almost forgotten her not too log ago troubles of the past.
Until, she saw the calendar of that day. Mother's day.
Right... she could no longer celebrate it... her mother was deceased now... Nagisa sank upon the couch, her face blank from gloom]

For all the peace and life Nagisa had given her, as colorful as she had made her life the moment they took care of one another, Mami was not able to mend the parts of herself that remained broken. Mistakes from the day she survived that car accident, and fought for a cycle that had taken many beloved friends to their deaths.

Sitting on the kitchen chair, she looked at the date of the calendar without tears, like observing a tragedy one is too familiar with by now. The reminder that one is born alone, and dies alone.

Mami turned to Nagisa as she fell onto the couch. She stood up, walked towards Nagisa, and sat beside her, holding her hand in silence, knowing fully well nothing needed to be said. A loss the two of them had endured and could never truly replace.

Nagisa leaned against Mami, silent for a while, tears in her eyes
"... Last year, Mama and I went out on a picnic by the church." she reminisced "We got a nice spot on the bluff, I bought a roast chicken, there was st andre and brie cheese with crackers. We drew pictures and played ball...

Her hug tightened. Mami stroked Nagisa's silver hair, much like a mother would, giving Nagisa a place to cry on.

There was much that Mami wanted to cry about. She had broken down in front of Madoka before admitting she did not want to fight anymore. Girls like them couldn't give in to despair, and that curse alone needed the two of them to take the purification vials like one would with medicine.

In here, where they had no choice but to accept that weakness, Mami was the one to remain silent from her own grief, to instead listen to Nagisa.

"How did you often celebrate around these times?"

[Nagisa leaned her young head against mami's ample bosom] "We liked to go on picnics, and have a special breakfast. And go out and do something special. And I would draw a special picture for her]
[sadly, nagisa could not remember a mother's day when her father was involved, as he apparently died when she was still a baby]

[In one part of the city, a storm in brewing, a ghostly festival and a very strong grief witch energy can be felt as shadows of fallen magical girls dart about. Walpurgisnacht, the queen of the grief witches, is coming...
Sayaka and Nagisa's mothers day celebrationas are interupted as their witch sides react to her presence, hearing her call]
"Damn it... not now...!" [sayaka grimaces]

The sight of the hourglass witch on the horizon fires many instincts Mami had kept buried.

Spread out onto the open like cobras poised to strike, everything in her orders her to fight, move, kill-- This wasn't supposed to happen. She tried to think this was only one of many nightmares still haunting her at night, but no matter how much she willed herself awake past all the fast beating of her heart and all the promises to herself that they wouldn't need to fight anymore, this was real. That nightmare was real.

No.

Not here. Please.

"Nagisa," Mami held her hand, "we have to leave. Now."

[puellamagia]

[Nagisa huddled against Mami, trembling fearfully, looking up at the great figure in the sky]
"Big sister, what's going on...?" [she recognized the dark aura in the area] "Is that a witch?" [but she has never sensed one this powerful before! It was so scary! Yet, there was something grand and elegant about this figure, whether the ornate old fashioned gown over the clockwork gears, the slender womanly form, the graceful way she floated] "Is she? " [Nagisa was brought to mind the fairy tales] "She must be the witch queen!]

She pulled Nagisa by her forearm, "Don't look..."

For the first time, Nagisa would realize Mami is terrified. Not of the witch herself, but everything she represented. But the truth was more disturbing.

Nagisa had heard of the rumors. Mami stopped cold. She breathed rapidly. She then turned to Nagisa, trying to balance herself. Getting at least for the moment the image of control.

"She is," Mami closed her eyes, "but this is not our fight anymore."

[And high above City *****, Goddess Madoka and Demon Goddess Homura were both floating in the air, looking at the Walpurgis coming.]

...It always comes to this, eh?

[Homura said with a light laugh.]

( goddess madoka sighed and shook her head) " poor queen verena... though i do believe this has been her first appearence here in infinity? )
( homura tuts. Though she understood verenas pain and madokas purification, the sight of walpurnisnacht and all the times she had failed to stop her still tormented her, even sealing her a way for a time after she first became a demon...)
" i must go help her! "
" madoka...

[Aand that was when a small twig poked at Goddess Madoka's arm! It had a small note attached to it.]

This is the World Tree System local AI! Please do not do anything that might break the local fabric of Reality too much, OK? Thank you!

[The Goddess Madoka sighed, then.]

...Oh, right, we are in a different place now, even though it's the same city.

[And then, she closed her eyes, thinking.]

- Homura dearest? What do you think we should do? Using our full powers as Goddesses would probably make a big hole in the fabric of Reality, which is not a good idea, I don't think.

[Demon Goddess Homura nodded at that.]

...Oh, so that's why I kept dreaming about being Humility again these days, huh?

[And then, she grinned.]

- I think we should make some Mortal Avators again, like we did a couple of times before. I miss walking about the place like a pair of normal humans again, I must admit.

The Worst Mother's Day Ever

[An AU Lelouch who was also a Puella Magi was cooking at his kitchen, humming to himself.]

...Nunnally! The food is going to be ready in 37 minutes, all right?

- Big Brother - You're done already!?

[AU Nunnaly said with a smile.]

...Ohhhh - That smells so good!
